What will Perth’s freight and supply chain look like in the next 50, even 100 years? That’s the question WSP Australia will consider as part of the Supply Chain Integrated Design project for Westport’s new container terminal in Kwinana.
This project will develop an early design for an optimised Supply Chain System including infrastructure for the terminal, road and rail network, intermodal terminals, distributions centres, and empty container management.
Westport is excited to be partnering with a consortium of expert consultants, led by WSP Australia, to plan for WA’s new container terminal and future freight network. WSP brings global expertise, with local team, as well as a wealth of experience in infrastructure consultancy.
Following a supply chain centric approach, Westport will also investigate the digital systems, new technologies, and governance components needed to support an integrated, high performing Supply Chain System.
The Supply Chain Integrated Design project will provide key inputs into Westport’s business case, expected in mid-2024, with recommendations on how and when to transition trade from the Fremantle Inner Harbour to Kwinana.
